You will be provided with an estimate of fees for financial informed consent at the time of booking your procedure. The full payment for your procedure is required 1 week prior to the date of surgery. You will be able to claim a portion of the fee back from medicare and your private health fund after the surgery. We will confirm your booking upon receiving this payment.
Endoscopy and Colonoscopy
Endoscopy and Colonoscopy at the private hospital for patients with private health insurance will be “No gap” with no out of pocket fee from the surgeon.
Public Hospital Admission
Privately insured patients undergoing surgery in the public hospital will be treated under a ‘No Gap” arrangement (no out of pocket for surgical fees).
Public patients treated under medicare incur no cost to be treated in the public hospital.
Self-Funded Patients (No Private Health Insurance) in a Private Hospital
If you do not hold private health insurance, payment in full is required 1 week prior to your surgery. Once your surgery has been completed, we will process your claim through Medicare and you will receive your Medicare rebate into your nominated bank account within 2-3 business days.
Hospital and Anaesthetist Fees
There may be a separate fee applicable for both the hospital and the anaesthetist. You will need to contact them directly and provide them with the item numbers listed on your quote.
If you are not covered by private health insurance for any reason, you will be responsible for the full costs of surgery, your hospital stay and your anaesthetic.
We heavily recommend you check with your private health fund prior to surgery that you are covered for your surgical procedure, anaesthetic and hospital stay.
